15. Requiem (Traveller's Rest)

Requiem aeturnum – now let’s have a drink
Body’s always moving – never time to think
Lux perpetua shining – all in a new light
Looking in a mirror – now can bear the sight

From living on the surface
We drop into the deep
Echoes of transcendence
Are the ones we keep
Glimpses of the unknown
Grow and overtake
No more are at the grindstone
We are sheltered from the ache

From living on the outside
We fall into the fold
Rumours of transcendence
Can now be told
Glimpses of the unseen
Coming into view
No more what we have been
We are making all anew

Dies irae past us – comfort in the calm
Danger of not knowing – do us no more harm
Peccata mundi slipping – conscience on the blink
Requiem aeturnum – let’s have that other drink
