Listening hard to the ether
Blips that appear on the screen
Are we all strangers together
Sharing the loneliness gene?

Do you know me?
Can you hear me?
How do we communicate?
Do I see you?
Can I tell you?
Please will you reciprocate?

The physical distance between us
Are waves upon somebody’s chart
The shadows we may see flicker
Show us the state of our heart
Putting our trust in our radar
Judging our relative speed
Are we on course for convergence?
Can we still feel the need?
